Re: 69. cartridges
You might want to visit Brett Gibbons' website at www.cartridgetubes.com He not only makes some of the most authentic reproduction cartridge tubes of all sorts on the market and his website offers construction methods to achieve what you may be looking for. Since introduced to his authentic re-creation of Augusta Arsenal Enfield cartridges it is a rare day I use anything else. I liked them so much I filled and correctly packaged over 50 arsenal packs of them (half a cartridge crate).

Re: 69. cartridges
Take a look at the Lazy Jacks article by Patrick Reardon:
Scroll to the bottom of the page and he has listed a source for paper balls. I have ordered from the place (good service) and they work fine with a little modification.Andy Mouradian

Re: 69. cartridges
I would check your local art supply store. I found styrofoam balls that are pretty close to the size needed in the floral department.
You can also try to make your own. I purchased a circle template at an office supply store. I use toilet paper, roll it until it is the correct size, wet it in a small bowl and then let it dry.
It is not a very quick method but it does work.

Re: 69. cartridges
41st rifleman,
I've not looked there never even thought about it. And I've looked on lazy jacks and i'll be doing what he shows. I've gone on that website and never found em. I've been on cartridgetubes.com quite a few times never bought from him though i make my own period rounds it's cheaper in the long run. I've not found anyone who makes 69. tubes if i get my '42 for my birthday i will start making the tubes myself with a lil practice i'm more then sure i can perfect myself on making them. But thanks everyone for the help i appreciate it.Your most humble and obedient servant,

Re: 69. cartridges
Justin,
I used to order quite a bit of stuff from the UK (WWI a/c modeling stuff, etc.), and some dealers were quite quick at shipping, sometimes beating the time it took for me to get stuff here in the U.S. Add to that, you can deduct the VAT from your order. Aside from that try Micheal's, Hobby Lobby, etc. over here.Warren Dickinson

Re: 69. cartridges
Dear Erik,
I'm very glad that my little article on the Lazy Jack web site is proving to be of some value. I'm currently in the Deep South (of France!!!!!) on vacation. I'll be back in London next week and if you'd like me to get a supply of paper balls for you I'd be very pleased to do so, and for others also. Just let me know and I can airmail them over.
Regards,
Patrick Reardon

Re: 69. cartridges
I second the kudos to Patrick's article, including the amendment on tieing the threads off. I used those instructions, and fired 75 rounds of .69 RB and 10 rounds of .69 buck-and-ball made per those instructions this past weekend at Manassas (only 10 rounds of buck-and-ball because it took so much longer to make!). I used the paper balls for the RBs from the source in the UK; ordering was very easy and I received them in a little over a week.Greg Walden

Re: 69. cartridges
Thanks for the response and review guys, doesn't make sense to order little paper balls and have them shipped all the way from England.....but if it works it works..
I used the old toilet paper method also this past weekend at Manassas, I think these pre-made balls will help in a faster construction.Justin A. Meinert
