A coincidence? Or did Turner Kirkland see a need..100 yrs too late?

Dec. 15, 1861 Thomas Barnett of 21st (later 5th) TN Regt. wrote home from camp at Union City Tennessee that they had " plenty of ammunition but no guns". Maybe they were even camped where Gunpowder Lane is today. For those that don't get it....Union City is now home of Dixie Gunworks. Jim Hensley
